I hate to break it to you, but Lords of Shadow is NOT castlevania... They are simply an alternate reality set of garbage that should never have been realized. I'm quite ashamed to admit that I have beaten the first one and it has no real connection to the real lore of castlevania.

For consoles IMO the Jaguar version is arguably the best one. Sure, no music, but it's up there with the PC version

I myself was a huge fan of the Fear Effect games, and of course Soul Reaver. In fact, that whole series consumed my life for a brief period.

I don’t think I ever met anyone who owned an NEC Turbo-Grafx 16 when it was new. I only remember a couple of people talking about having it or saying they knew someone who had it. I never witnessed it myself. Having a CD-ROM add-on was all the rage in the ‘90s. I always thought Sega was first with the Sega CD 💿, but I guess NEC did it first. Even Atari tried to enhance the Jaguar with a CD-ROM add-on. It was such an interesting time to be a gamer. Nintendo made the right call by abandoning their planned “Sony PlayStation” add-on for the SNES. 16-bit CD-ROM technology was just abysmal with all of the horrible FMV interactive movie games that didn’t even fill up the entire screen and other trashy games which couldn’t really utilize the CD-ROM format with the hardware available.
